Shelby Miller began his career in civil construction at just 17, starting out as a pipelayer and equipment operator. Those early years in the field gave him a strong foundation in how projects are actually built — experience that continues to shape his work today.

After earning his Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from Okanagan College, Shelby joined a leading engineering firm where he worked on subdivision and infrastructure projects throughout the Okanagan Valley. There, he gained deep experience in drafting, design support, project coordination, and inspection. Later, his time with a civil excavation contractor added valuable perspective on estimating and managing projects from the contractor’s side of the table.

In 2023, Shelby founded Peak Civil Consulting with a simple goal — to help engineers, contractors, developers, and government clients get reliable technical support from someone who understands both the field and the office. His work bridges the gap between design and construction, providing the drafting, documentation, and coordination that keep projects moving efficiently.

When he’s not working, Shelby enjoys life in the Okanagan with his family. Spending time outdoors hiking, fishing, snowboarding, biking, and exploring the backcountry on his quad. Balancing hard work with an active lifestyle keeps him grounded and focused on what matters most - building a great life and great projects.
